Join a national mechanical contracting business that delivers tailored building services, energy upgrades and asset replacement programs for major portfolios across Australia’s east coast. You’ll work on fit-outs, refurbishments and capital replacement projects, collaborating closely with project, estimating and service teams. The culture is down-to-earth, collaborative and technically sharp, led by people who still love solving real engineering challenges.
Be the technical authority. Lead HVACR design and compliance validation; scope, design and certify air/water/HVACR systems; provide guidance on code compliance and engineering best practice.
Deliver end-to-end solutions. Support projects from feasibility through to commissioning, ensuring technical integrity, constructability and operational performance.
Champion practical decarbonisation. Model building loads, evaluate gas-to-electric pathways, and guide refrigerant transitions with a whole-of-life lens.
Provide assurance, not sales. Focus on technical leadership, risk mitigation and engineering excellence, not chasing bids or winning work.
Collaborate with clients and peers. Engage confidently with consultants, facility managers and project teams to ensure effective, safe and efficient delivery.
Registration to sign off designs (e.g., CPEng plus state registration such as BPV/NER) and 10+ years across mechanical contracting.
Strong technical background in HVACR design, certification and risk assessment; comfortable coordinating external drafting/BIM and commissioning partners.
Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and explain design choices clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves: NABERS/Green Star experience, commissioning oversight, and knowledge of CAMEL and Bluebeam.
A true SME mandate: Step into the role vacated by a long-tenured technical leader and help shape national standards.
Tangible impact: Work on live buildings where smart engineering decisions improve efficiency, sustainability and client outcomes.
Supportive team: Estimating, project and service teams aligned around quality, safety and smooth delivery.
Growth runway: Influence engineering practices nationally, mentor peers and drive improvement initiatives.
Flex that grows with trust: Office-first early on; hybrid once established.
Package: $160k–$180k base + super (around $200k TRP), with scope to stretch for an outstanding hire; novated lease options available.
Two stages: (1) Technical/fit with the National Engineering leader and relevant state manager; (2) final with the Managing Director.
